Thanks to the pandemic, comfort clothing has taken the front seat and, as a result, the classic kaftans ARE BACK in trend and not just as Resort wear or beachwear but as an everyday wardrobe essential. And why shouldn’t they? They are comfy, airy and yet glamourous.
Even the Bollywood celebrities are vouching for this piece of clothing. The ultimate Bollywood diva, Kareen Kapoor Khan started the #KaftanSeries on Instagram that prompted other celebs to hop on the ‘Kaftan’ bandwagon. Joining the trend are the likes of Malaika Arora, Karishma Kapoor, Mira Kapoor, Tara Sutaria, Alia Bhatt and many more.
The influencers too can be seen donning the Kaftan look that has helped with the trend’s popularity among the younger generation.

Moreover, Sabhyasachi’s recent collab with the popular high-street retailer H&M witnessed Kaftan as the star piece of the entire collection. That corroborates that the trend is not just back but is here stay for a long time.
